I just read an article on MSN.com about "no rub" contact lens solution. Many people assume this means they don't need to do anything other than soak their lenses to get them clean. Not true. The solution will kill the bacteria, but it will leave the dead bacteria on the surface of the lens. Wearing lenses with microbial buildup can lead to irritation and infection of the eye. So, those of you who wear contacts, please listen to the advice of Dr. Christine Sindt, head of the American Optometric Association's contact lens and cornea section:
With the lens in your palm, rub with solution for 5 sections. Then rinse with solution for 5 seconds. You should also wash out your lens case with solution on a regular basis.
