Message from BlueCross BlueShield


To BCBSKC Members:

BCBSKC is working very closely with Express Scripts as they negotiate their contract with Walgreens for 2012.  Unfortunately, Walgreens has been aggressively communicating to their customers about possible termination of the contract.  At this time negotiations are not final and we cannot confirm status for 2012.  Walgreens remains an in-network pharmacy option for services received in 2011.

We expect contract negotiations to continue over the next several weeks.  BCBSKC will communicate with our members as soon as we receive notification of the contract decision.  If any changes are made to the network for 2012, we will provide plenty of education prior to the change.
